Well since it was some crazed nationalists who shot Franz(?) and started WWl, the effect of nationalism was profound. For when the War was over in 1918, the AH empire was broken up. I would say nationalism was their downfall. I have heard that much of recent troubles in that area can be directly linked to the break up that happened in 1918. Those people have hated each other for seems like forever.
