  • You are on the right track, thermostatic switch is located in cab by heater/a/c unit. The switch is connected to a copper tube that goes into evaporator to sense temp. and will cycle power on and off to compressor clutch to regulate temp. So you will find switch near a/c lines that goe into evaporater. Should only be a two wire switch with a copper tube coming off it. I would start from the other end and check power at compressor, if not there, then low pressure switch, if power is present there then you have a defective switch or system is low on charge and won't allow compressor to run.
