A nice warm bath (already mentioned), and some Advil P.M. may work. If not, does Nyquil make you drowsy? It tastes gross but, to combat insomnia, sometimes it works (just don't get hooked on either ... I worked with a guy that took Tylenol P.M. for so long that he basically had to have it to get to sleep). There are also some new perscriptions that work wonders for some folks, (like Ambien), tho' you sound like maybe you don't want any "aides". Some people swear by "chamomile tea" after a hot shower, also.

Have you tried any form of meditation? Mind control. Must quiet the mind chatter. Focus on something. Or with your eyes closed create a picture. It may sound silly but I litterally have resorted to counting sheep jumping over a fence. It works beautifully. It is just a matter of focusing your mind on something boring.
