  • Yes. Because how do you think you got the sore throat? Especially if you have strep throat then their is bacteria that can lead you to getting a cold if not more
  • A cold is a virus. Sore throats can be caused for a variety of reasons. Dry air, coughing too much etc . One of these reasons could be strep throat. Strep is a bacteria and needs antibiotics to cure. Virus' need rest, fluids symptomatic care. Long story short...NO a sore throat can not give you a cold
  • I don't know if it can lead to a cold, but I often find that if I have a sore throat it is the forerunner of a cold - normally I get a sore throat for 3 days, then nose running like a barrel of beer for 3 days, then back to the throat for three days, then to the chest for a week.
  • In my case that is how a cold always starts. Gargling with warm salted water helps.
