The last hospital I was in..was private and like an hotel..great food, own room, phone, sky TV etc, the NHS hospital I have been in was hell..terrible!!
I have never had to stay in the hospital but my grandpa has been in and out a lot recently and I see it as more of a prison. We are always waiting for someone to tell him when he CAN leave, and there are certain visiting hours and rules.
depends. If it's a psychiatric hospital..it's prison. If it's a normal hospital and you can get decent treatment it's a vacation
Like a holiday for the first five mins...then...LET ME OUT!...
Oh for me it would have to be a prison :) I associate them with needles and I am scared of needles :)
A prison have you ever tasted NHS food it is dire,in fact i had my husband sneak me sandwiches in:)
It's prison, a waiting room to more illness.
I would look at it as work. Some people are able to extract disability payments because of hospital stays.
...
If you want good health, eat healthful foods and exercise. If you are unemployed and you realize that welfare is a joke, go to a hospital.
No, never say it a vacation! Good health is a blessing! Ask those who have spent years or even months on the hospital bed! They are thirsty for good health!
So, Get well soon to everyone sick of the hospital bed!
More like a vacation ,where you are looked after very well :)
vacation. ha ha ha...isn't that sad.
Prison. Oh, it was horrible. They didn't let me sleep, they didn't let me eat, and I went for days at a time without seeing the sun.
Of course, that was when I worked at one... ;-)
Prison most definitely! Especially when youre detained and they dont let you leave.
prison ... i try to avoid it but i can't ... still end up behind bars and NHS doors
depends on how sick I am -
Depends why I'm there. During my last one, the memory of the first week is kind of fuzzy and the last couple of days is like a prison. I had surgery and was in for 9 days.
I was in for a week with pneumonia, and its weird I really needed to get away, gave me time to think and mellow out. It's also a cool feeling right before you open your eyes each morning when your expecting to see your bedroom and you realize your somewhere else.
Well maybe not exactly prison, but it's not a vacation either. I mean in most cases you just lay there, eat ew food and it smells bad everywhere.
It depends upon:
1. the patient's mental condition, and,
2. whether or not the patient's presence is voluntary.
To me a hospital is a prison were the guards,i.e. Nurses and other staff keep coming around all night waking you up for blood, vitals to be taken, medications...It is in no way like a vacation peaceful and fun...it is a sentence and you are always glad you can beakout!
A little of both, depending on my health problem.
A prison for sure.
prison.....
Really neither but if I had to choose one, it would be the vacation. All you have to do is treat the nurses well, say thank you, and don't do anything too weird and they will likely make your visit as comfortable as they possibly can.
Neither.
Prison. You are too ill to enjoy anything, even if the food is good.
Ermmm depends what kind of hospital really. If it's NHS, odds are it's going to be RUBBISH, a prison. If it's private it's more like a hotel really.
Even psychiatric hospitals, the private ones are actually alright... sort of like a vacation BUT it can be considered prison because you're kept there until you're better. They can be VERYYYY long sentences to them places xD
ALL NHS HOSPITALS SUCK :) Just so you know. I hate them all. But that's my personal opinion :)

Prison! I hate em! hate em! hate em! Been in them far too often! A vacation is not being stuck in bed in a smelly place full of sick or injured people, or a nurse hatchet coming in every 4 hours to take blood, check your BP or ask you when the last time it was that you took a crap!
Most certainly a jail term.I'm going through it presently.
Prison for sure! I just had to spend the night from friday to saturday cause i had to have scar tissue removed from an old appendectomy scar and it was miserable. I hate ivs and shots and the food.
