You're reading Can you tell me how many critter cubes a day (approximately) gerbils and hamsters eat daily? I am tired of the waste when I change food every day.
Comments
I HAVE to change the food daily. I am a rescue/pocket pet breeder. Right now I have rows an rows of cages. It is not considered sanitary by the USDA to leave food in the cage. And that is true even though they are hoarders. I have volunteers that feed and put huge bowlfulls in and I need to be able to give specific directions. Since it has to be USDA safe, I cannot re-use food.

then depending on how many you have per cage-you should only be giving 1/2 a cup per cage per day. Next time be more specific when asking about this type of thing, it will help answer the question better. I know what you mean about the rescue program, I have done it too. Although, the way you stated your question, it sounded like you were just a pet owner-not a rescuer. Since you are changing daily 1/4-1/2 a cup daily, should be more than enough. Hope this is a little better for you. Good luck and ahppy rescuing!!!
