  • It depends what bit rate you are using on the songs. The rule of thumb for 128 bit rate is 1 gig = 240-250 songs You can do the rest of the math from there.
  • You could have a song that is very short and small, or you could have an opera on one song. But on average, with average filetypes, I think that: 1 GB = 250 songs 2 GB = 500 songs 4 GB = 1000 songs etc.
  • Different files have different sizes, so there is no hard and fast answer for this... however I can tell you that my iTunes folder currently holds 4521 songs which is 16.27 GB, that works out at approximately 278 songs per GB. There is no reason why this should be unusual in any way.
