Question

Help answer this question below.

How come some questions get so many answers, and yet all the ones I ask are done and gone in a couple of minutes? I wouldn't say it's content, because some of the high rated questions are simple, useless questions.

I wonder the exact same thing. I think some people just get lucky to tell you the truth.

I have to agree with you because you are absolutely right. But keep in mind you aren't the only one in that
predicament. There are too many reasons that could
explain as to why this is so, in my opinion, that I
won't even bother to speculate on them.

Sometimes it's the type of question. I ask some that have only one concrete answer. The first person gives the right one and no one else need answer. I have the problem also and I have lots of friends.

Your questions have to be opinion ones!

Most people, I think, stick to their Home page, respond to questions of interest to them, which takes a little time and then go back to the Home page, which has totally changed with its questions. Thus, they start reading the questions now posted. If your question came on when readers were busy elsewhere, they'll likely miss seeing it, unless someone has kept it active, such is what is happening with this question now. It's a good question.

Thing is, questions are coming fast and furious, and scroll off quickly, before many people even get to read them. Often, then, without response, they'll go into the AB computer of ancient history, never seen again, unless the computer gets bored and wants to confuse us with an old question! :-)

You lucked out this time around...folks are keeping your question alive before it had a chance to go to the back of the bus. Congratulations!

P.S. After answering your question, I flipped back to the Home page...yer still there. I put ya back up at second place. [By the way, that answer telling you to answer your own question, would NOT be viewed as "Kosher" by most of your new AB Family. It's not viewed as the appropriate and polite thing to do. Don't do it...it will annoy many.]

AB is not always an exercise in intellectual conversation. Sometimes it's just "me too-ism" answers. Just a distraction, just mindless fun sometimes.

I have noticed the same thing and can relate it to the time of day and day of the week as far as to whom responds to what type of questions. For example, I find that I get the best questions to answer on Fridays, with the least favorbale questions for me to answer on Sundays.
I have noticed there is just a certain "crowd" that is working AB on any given time and sometimes your question "fits" or it does not. Best of luck!

I think it is the content. People stay away from questions they have to use their brains on. Most of people I mean.

Also, whenever someone answers or puts a comment it puts your questions back in rotation...make sure you answer your own question to keep it around a little longer!

PEOPLE USUALLY ANSWER QUESTIONS THAT ASK WHAT THEY THINK INSTEAD OF THE STUFF THAT THEY KNOW BECAUS ITS EASIER TO ANSWER STUFF THEY THINK.

Some of the very dumbest, silliest questions get the most answers and points. I guess for many it is not so much about sharing good information as for silly socializing. Which is just fine... fun.

Because people can pick and choose which questions they answer. As for those with a LOT of answers, look at their dates. Many are most-likely a year or more old.

Remember that people will tend to answer what they can. if they don't know the answers to your question, they'll just skip it. But, somewhere, sometime, someone will answer it. That's why questions always remain open. ;-)

i feel your pain, many times i get dozens of answers to questions i barely cared about but the questions i really wanted/needed answered go unnoticed.
