Question

Help answer this question below.

Should I take a job in a more expensive city making slightly more money, doing about the same thing, but w/great benefits? My current job has no benefits -- no sick time, no vacation, no paid holidays, no health care. Or should I wait 4 the perfect job?

What is a perfect job, the one you describe sounds pretty good and you are gaining experience and benefits .
It will look well on your CV (Resume) and you can always barter for the same kind of benefits if the perfect job ever comes up

The benefits that you list are worth a lot, even without the slight increase in income. If that were the only issue, I don't think that you would be asking the question here on Answerbag.

I suspect that there is more to the question, such as leaving behind a boyfriend/girlfriend/family. How far away is this new city? Have you moved before? It's a major life change, even if done for positive reasons; if you have seldom done it, it means moving into unknown territory that you might be apprehensive about.

If it were me, and I had no overriding reason to stay put, I would take the new job. Besides, maybe your 'perfect job' is in the new location and if you don't move there for this job, you would miss the new perfect job.

Take the one in the city! Benefits are very important...also being in a bigger city you have a better chance of finding your perfect job. :) Go for it!!!!!!!

    Everyone's personal situation is different.

Are you married? do you have children, etc.

All questions have to weighed, before a decision can be made.

    I would only suggest this......

I would never work at a job that did not have benefits.

The benefits sometimes make up for the short in salary.

I personally would not recommend relocating for a job that you're just luke warm about. Relocating is costly, and can be emotionally difficult. If you were really fired up about the job, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, keep looking. Things should pick up after the new year too in the job market.
