  • Take a few long deep breaths, first of all. Calm down and think about what you like and what you are good at. Think about what you like the most that you are good at, and consider if you can make a living doing that. If so, look for classes to help with your skills in that area, or change schools, need be, to be where you want to be.
  • Don't worry. Do you know most people have at least a few different careers in their lifetime. Not jobs, careers. Something that I have found helpful is to volunteer if possible in the field that you are interested in. Or if you can't do that try to seek out people in that field to talk to. You can also join clubs at school that are related to your interests. Most schools also have career centers where you can fill out questioneers that will help you find what jobs most match your personality. Good luck.
  • Hang yourself........ no wait, OR..... you can just go online and search jobs one by one. Go on a site that lists careers/jobs in alphabetical order and then just make a list. Then choose two that you see yourself doing. Take my example, I chose the Marines (Infantry), but my second career choice is law enforcement, and that's why I wanna study Criminology or Crime and Justice rather than going to West Point. Always have a way out. A PLAN B is a very good thing in our times.
  • Don't worry about it. Most people that go on to college change their majors about three times before they find the right fit. Just remain open minded and watch your world go by. See what you are interested in doing and get a part time job trying to do something that is related to what interests you. Just live life and enjoy yourself right now! It will work out!
  • I think, it's just a normal phase in college that students experience this kind of dilemma. For sure, you will know what you really want to do when you get exposes to the different courses. When I was in college, students from different majors visit the freshmen to talk about what their major is all about. This is the time to discern. Just wait and soon, you will know what you really want to do.
