  • It's cold-blodded murder. The memtality behind it is that the leader picks a random person to prove that the new member will obey everything he says. This not only bonds the new member to the gang but reinforces the leaders control over the others. By choosing an innocent (random) person, it demonstrates that the new member will show no feelings about killing, no matter who it is.
  • gangs are stupid. it doesnt make them tough. there is no way to make sense of it. this reminds me of a tv show i saw on gangs, one of the "soldier" ranks was talking about how if a innocent bystander gets shot, its ok they "shouldnt have been there" and "it was there fault".
  • Shooting unarmed people is no tougher than shooting fish in a barrel. It's cowardly and stupid.
  • Tis a test of ruthlessness.
