swelling is normal goin over the back is a problem go talk to your piercing artist (s)he will probably change it for a longer post as for the gum problems once it stopps swelling you should get a properly sized labret stud to minimize gum damage it will wear a small divot to sit in tho. some people like the look of a ring instead but a ring is more likely to severly damage the gums and teeth if you wear it for a long time once in awhile is fine.

Get rid of the ring in your lip ASAP or you will have big problems.

You're reading I got my lip pierced 3 weeks ago bt during the night it swells up, now the skin is trying to grow ova the back of it, what should I do? Also ive been readin that ur gums can receed the side my lip ring is on is a lot softer & easier to move should i do?
