You're reading My 1992 dodge dakota will not start sometimes,it does not have spark but if you let it sit awhile it gets spark and will start and run fine but if you shut it off the problem comes back! this is an intermittent problem any ideas?

HELLO! just so you know the truck stopped starting again! I put acamshaft sensor in the distributor after I borrowed a plug-in reader to the computer and it came up with that code,all is well and running THANKS AGAIN

My pleasure. I wish it had solved the whole problem. With modern computers, mechanics often forget now to check the obvious things, that their fathers knew, first. My old Tempo was in the shop over and over and every part that a code came up for replaced. Nothing worked until one day we hit a pothole and the coil wire fell off. The connection was that brittle. After that I went back to the basics that my mentor taught me first, and checked codes second.
