Help answer this question below.

I was driving down the road in a 1999 ford contour not even 10 minutes the car shuts down i try to restart it but nothing happened i checked the battery it was fine what could be the problem?

    same thing happened to me and UNFORTUNATELY I had to have the alternator replaced

    THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY '98 CONTOUR. I THOUGHT FUEL. CHANGED PUMP AND FILTER. WOULDNT START. KEPT THROWING PARTS AT IT NOTHING WORKED. FINALLY DECIDED IT MUST BE TIMING AND SURE ENOUGH, THE PULLEYS AND TENSIONER WERE SHOT.

    The problem is probably either electricity or gas. I would suggest carefully checking all of the wiring around the battery or make sure that there is not an internal leek somewhere.
