I know the system stinks. I used to work for a doctor's office and we had this family on medicaid and receiving food stamps and FDC and all the other "benefits" and they would have on real gold jewelry, addidas shoes, Hilfiger clothing, and driving a brand new car. I don't know if anyone in the office ever turned them in or not (cause you know they had to be getting money from somewhere than just the government to pay for all of that!). Some people just know how to work the system and take advantage of it while the rest of us schmucks have to actually go to work to make ends meet.

OMG Dont even get me going on our Welfare System, what a disaster. While I was out of work, I needed medical insurance, so applied thru the state, but was denied. Once I read brochure I saw that any woman not born or born in the US automatically gets state help as do the children till they are 18 illegal aliens or not. Seems our government takes care of everyone but their own and I am tired of it

i have a really good feeling there's info missing here, but if this is the truth you have the option (or maybe responsibility) to report the person for welfare fraud so they wont suck up our tax dollars as much as the corporations do ;)

- what? where did i say anything about you making too much? all i'm saying is there's probably more to the story, not your story, the story of the person you're complaining about. like i said before, if it's wrong, make a complaint to the authorities. no one here can do anything about it. we cannot punish them for wrongdoing.

they give him $800 a month toward rent?? they don't do that..They pay the complex and he pays his part out of his pocket and I have been on sect 8 /low income assistance since 1993 and I can't even find a place to rent that has a washer /dryer hook up.. Most places are in dangerous, drug infested neighborhoods.. and security with a pool. LOL..You may have your facts mixed up or somebody is giving them money or they are committing big time fraud.. The govt is NOT going to allow them to live in that kind of luxury IF they are not committing fraud and them pay for it.. notice I said IF..

- it's a brand new apartment building, a view of the mountains(beautiful), gated, security, a pool, but they said I made too much money to live there. They said they wouldn't be able to rent the unit to me because I made more than 20,000 yr. It was a nice little rural complex. oh well, it was probably for the best...

- I would not bet on the complex being 'legit" by the book place. If they charge that much for an apt. and the govt is paying it, their is a lot going on there that doesn't meet the eye.. I have been on low income housing since 1993 and I can tell you that the govt doesn't pay for "luxuries". you are lucky they pay for anything at all. so you can bet that their is something going on. Do you really live at a place that might be all not so legit.
