We don't know. In Genesis 6:1-4 the "sons of God" are captivated by the beauty of the "daughters of men." They subsequently marry them and produce an offspring of giants known as the Nephilim. Genesis goes on to say that these Nephilim were "mighty men" and "men of renown." Who these people are and where they come from is questionable. I've always felt that although Adam and Eve were the first man and woman God created, that doesn't necessarily mean they were the only ones he created.

Adam's first wife was Lillith not Eve, and I am sure that there were other people on the planet according to the evolutionary table of human kind, of course if I was a raping conquareer and needed everyone to view me as a god and only those descended from me counted I'm sure I would lie about the real history and rewrite it to suit myself and those of my bloodlines after all I'm a god and Adam was my first born and everyone else is canon fodder, when they invent canons that is ... ~Nemo~

By the time Adam and Eve came around, pre-modern humans had already been here by at least a million years, and modern man by at least one hundred thousand years. Adam and Eve is nothing more than a moral story. The Bible gives you a clue on that.
