12 Yr son is so terrible. There have been two psych unit hospitalizations (at 6yr and at 12)Now doctors want to put him in a residental treatment center that you live in for 18 months. I think it would give him the help he needs and me the break I need. But the RTC is 6 hours away and my kido is extremely attached to me even though he is the meanest person to me. I have no hope right now with him. he attacks his sisters everyday as well. Very painful homke to live in. Very overwhelming. Does anyone else have a home like this?

i can tell you what would the best solution is. there is a children facility in calhoun TN that can your children with this very problem. it is called adventhome youth services inc. they specialize in everything from ADHD to drug abuse to suidcidal. i garuntee that if you send your child to this school that they will be better behaved, better people, and better managable. the good thing about this is that i have personnal experince with this. i am a 16 yr old teen who has been to this school because i was risk taking, ADHD, and had massive anger and mood issues. check it out at www.adventhome.org and for more information you can email me at trevorsaxon@gcasda.org, and i will tell you everything you need to know about this school. trust me, it is life changing, and will make you happier in the end.

  • Bi-polar can not be diagnosed in any one under 18, as the symptoms do not become clear until the brain has fully developed. The only thing someone under 18 can be diagnosed with is conduct disorder. If your child was diagnosed with bi-polar, the therapist needs to be reported and have his license to practice revoked. as for how to deal with it, it depends on each person independently. I would suggest not belittling any fears or insecurities your children have, and treating them like adults. If they are violent towards others, call the police, because the safety of you and your family comes first.
