Ideally, you should find something that’s fairly recession-proof. Any form of hospital personnel seems an obvious choice, as people will continue to get sick, have babies, etc.. (Of course, specializing in *elective* surgery might not be the best bet.) Ultimately, though, I’d like to make what I think to be a better suggestion: train for something you love. If you’re going to college, that gives you a few years before you get out into the real world, so today’s economic climate might not even be an issue. More importantly, though, this is a decision you’re going to have to live with for a *long* time. if you choose something just because you’ll supposedly make good money at it, it’s going to blow up in your face. Take it from someone that chose his course of study based primarily on the supposed financial benefits: it’s just not worth it. HTH!
