Question

Help answer this question below.

Lately I've been thinking about how to meet new people. When I ask people they always say "at work, at clubs or groups, at church, at the gym" etc. They tell me where to meet people, but I actually want to know how you actually go about meeting new people

    1) Locate someone you've never met before. This should be fairly easy.

    2) Walk up to them. Smile. Say "Hi, I'm John,* how are you?"

    3) Go from there.

    * This assumes your name is John. If your name is not John, insert your actual name here.

Generally it is easy to get people to talk about themselves. Ask questions and let them answer. At the gym for example: " Do you know how this machine works?" then follow with, " How long have you been a member here?" if you keep asking, people will usually talk more and then you can follow up with questions. If they seem interested in you they will often ask you questions back.

Well, if you go to a bar, sit where there are lots of people and start a conversation. Laugh at some of the jokes being said and slowly bring yourself into whatever they are discussing. I think it is easier for some to make friends than others.

Act open, ask lots of questions and appear interested only if you are (smiles, eye contact etc...let them know you're interested).

    Good luck!

Important thing is if you come across someone who doesn't workout, keep going. Don't give up. There are good people out there.

If I was single...I would definately use the date finder things you see on tv...because they match you up with people who like the same things you do...I think the more you have in common, maybe the more time you will spend with each other.

Three pointers: One, Ask them for some help. "Hi, can you show me how to use this bike (at the gym)?" Two, make eye contact, look at them in a friendly way. Three, try to make a joke (dont worry if its funny). Do all three & you will likely hit a home run!!!
