Because if you mean an actual "first human" named Adam, you'd have to prove he actually even existed (good luck)...only then could a meaningful debate regarding 'his' gender take place.
No, if anything it would be more likely that Eve was also male.

That's an interesting question. What SO many people these days don't know, is that there are more stories about Adam & Eve than just those of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam...they were also mentioned in unique stories found in two basically extinct religious families: Gnosticism and Manichaeism. If I were looking for obscure interpretations, I'd check those stories out.
