I have a pioneer GM6100F 600watt 4 channel amp. ive had it for a number of years now. and lately when i increase the volume the amp "surges" and the speakers cut out momentarily. then they will come back on, if i lower the volume it doesnt do it any sugg?

    first of all, i would be running 1/0 guage wiring for your 3000w amp. is it 3000w rms, if not then what is the rms power of the amp?
    second. make sure you are running capacitors for both amps. any reputable car audio shop will sell you a 5 farad capacitor which should eliminate any surges as long as you are running proper wiring.

    also have you upgraded the power & ground cables leading to the battery to 0 gauge?

    these are all things that should be taken care of before running big power.

    if you do this, this should theoretically cease all surges. good luck

    i might add that im also using an orion 3000 watt amp with 2 12" soundstream subs in conjunction with a stinger sp1000 dry cell battery. thanx!
