Pleasureman69 wears a COAT of friendship

This is a Good News Day! Most of you know that I have been blessed to have survived colon cancer twice and prostate cancer. I develope colon polyps very rapidly, even after radically changing my diet after the 1st colon cancer. For the past 2 years, the Doctor who keeps me alive, has been surgically treating a rectal polyp area that developes some pre-cancerous cells. Last Thursday, I had another colonoscopy, a follow-up to one done in early December, to do addional work on the same area. The results came back today as very encourageing. I'm good to go til December. I thank all of you "strangers" in my life, who prayed for me along with family and friends, that this would be good news. I wish that you could be here for me to give you a real hug; so I send each of you, from my heart and soul, a Spiritual Hug. xoxox

You smack yourself upside the head and stop it. You visualize a positive outcome...you don't allow anything negative to enter your mind. You don't need to be your own worst enemy..you need to be a cheerleader. If the news it not so good, you deal with it. You suck it up and do what you have to do..but you never ever give up. You fight. If you don't believe in you and your success you might as well throw in the towel and not bother. Attitude is the most important thing we can give to your medical professionals as they try to help us. A good, positive, helpful attitude is what they need from us..and following everything they tell us to do. You owe them that and that's what you owe yourself. Do not hang crepe in advance. :)

Pleasureman, the news is good either way. Either you get to be with us for a while longer, or you get to see heaven before us. Either way, its all good. Separation is temporary. Love is forever. I know this is really hard, but you've shown wonderful courage and sense of humor so far. You can make it through this. Remember there are a whole group of us that are praying for you here. Let us know how it goes.

The best ist not to prepare for anything, take it as just another task. When you have the results, go from there.... Never think negative, never even admit in the darkest corner of your mind that you are in danger or have to suffer, it generates all kinds of negative reactions in your body. When my husband received the news once that he is "doomed" ( just other words were used) he looked at me, smiled and said: "Don't worry, honey, I will be fine, I wil be healthy again!" That was his firm resolve and after 4 years he is!!! The oncologist was not helping much, he was almost in tears. Dieter laughed at him, stroke his shoulder and said: "You will have to change some statistics in a couple of years". Yesterday I googled that doctor and I will write him that Dieter still lives and is healthy.
So you know, if the news should be not so good, start your fight - you will win!!!!!!! Love - Karin.

Find out as much as you can about what you fear and about how the test results are marked and evaluated (try healthboards.com). Write down (and take with you when you discuss the results) all the questions you want answered.

Educate yourself! Look at each possible scenario. Write down questions for your physician concerning the possible outcomes, treatments, the risks and benefits of each treatment and what she recommends for your individual situation if you were to test positive.

If the test is positive (meaning you are either at high risk of developing this illness or do indeed have the illness), get out your list of possibile treatments and ask the risks and benefits of each and which your physician is familiar with concerning the success rate. Also, ask friends/family for names and numbers of people they know with the illness. They can provide strong support and can help you cut to the chase concerning treatement options and who they trust with their treatment.

If the result is negative (meaning the diagnostic studies you underwent shows you do not have the illness in question), breathe a sigh of relief and reevaluate your priorities.

Reminder: A second and even third opinion is highly recommended. The insurance companies should agree as 2 out of 3 negatives will equal less financial output on their part. Many civilians take this as an insult
to the physician, it is NOT an insult. We only want what is best for our fellow human beings, no offense is taken.

I wish you the best. :)

Prayer is always a good start. Let the Lord take up your worries. (Much easier said than done, but it does work!)

I just think about what I will do if the results are less than brilliant. If I figure out what to do beforehand, then I have less to deal with after the bad news.

Remember, whatever happens to you there is a reason for it. Hard times make you stronger, and often will end with something better. Even if you don't see the advantage or good behind something now, it will someday all be made clear.

I am always prepared to accept God's will, whether it pleases me at the moment, or not. I have applied this to all things in my life...throughout my life. And I have had one FANTASTIC life.

When I say the words to God "Thy Will be done", I sincerely mean it. He doesn't even have to tell me why. I'll find out soon enough. :-)

    S...IGH

Lord's Prayer...Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses; as we
forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
thine is the kingdom; and the power; and the glory, Now and Forever. amen...
    Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he
leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his
name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you
are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and
love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.ow and Forever.Amen...

    Matthew 7:7-8
Ask and you will receive, search and you will find, knock and the door will be open. Because
everyone who asks receives, everyone who searches finds and for everyone who knocks, the door
    will be open.

    Matthew 18:18-20
Amen I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind upon earth, shall be bound also in heaven; and
whatsoever you shall loose upon earth, shall be loosed also in heaven. Again I say to you, that if
two of you shall consent upon earth, concerning any thing whatsoever they shall ask, it shall be
done to them by my Father who is in heaven. For where there are two or three gathered together
in my name, there am I in the midst
    of them.

    John 14:13-14
Because I go to the Father: and whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, that will I do: that
the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you shall ask me any thing in my name, that I will do.

    Millenium - The Mysterious M. . . GONE!

By accepting the "fact" that you ARE mortal and NO ONE can achieve immortality; except through "memory" of you once you're gone! But since you asked this question in February of '09, I'm assuming, by now, you KNOW what those "results" were!
