I rode it everywhere.
It was my companion and I loved it. It was a red Schwin Phantom and it had fat tires and a shock absorber over the front wheel.
One day I rode it down "church hill" in Forest Hills, behind the Presbyterian Church on 112th Street, which was totally unpaved, used for sledding in the winter, just an almost vertical lot about two blocks long. Now there's a hospital or nursing home built over the site.
Those were the days. they were long ago and far away.
Light weight
I never was capable to drive a bicycle no matter how much I tried.
It was the right size for me, and once those training wheels came off - wow - FREEDOM!
The memory of when my father let go after pushing me and I rode the bicycle by myself.
Freedom
Low monthly payments. If it were not for them, I would have never been able to get it.

I know for a fact that bicyclists are respected as motorists on the streets in Europe, why isn't it the same in America?
