I want to install a replacement cooling fan in the power supply of my computer. The original fan used a 2 wire connection. The replacement fan has 3 wires. Can I cut off the 3rd wire?

    The "third wire" is for sensor information (it would tell your motherboard at how many RPM the fan is spinning). It's not applicable in this situation, so you can ignore it.
