A child should have around 2000 calories to 2500 calories. a child who is known to have a slow metabolism (which is the rate at which your body breaks down foods and nutrients) or a child that does not regularly exercise for the recommended at least 1/2 hour a day, I would make sure those 2000 calories are from fresh, healthy raw foods during snack times.
