  • Just because people ask you doesn't mean you will be, or can be. But if it's what you think you're going to try, remind your parents that some modles have their PHDs.
  • "Mom and Dad, I know you may want me to do something else with my life, but I really want to be a model." And if they say no, don't argue with them. They probably won't be swayed, and it will digress your relationship with them.
  • You can be both. Talk to your parents tell them you are interested in modeling but not at the expense of school. You could make money to help pay for your higher education by modeling. You need to be commited to both as there are no guarantees in this world and you need a profession to fall back on in case modeling does not pan out. Many very pretty girls don't make it. If you understand that and explain to your parents you want a chance at both they may be supportive.
  • Tell them the truth. But what if the modeling does bot work out?? have a second plan go to college part time and from there go and try to become a model. but remember beauty does not last forever, but intelligence last forever.
  • Hey, If you are that smart I do not see why you cannot figure out a way to do both! Look up the concept of "portfolio careers". They are very healthy and enable you to balance out both the left and right brain hemispheres. Doing something creative alongside something intellectual can help you excel at both.
  • Just because people ask if you're a model doesn't mean that you are "pretty enough" to be one, and just being pretty won't make you a model, even if you are "pretty enough". If your intelligence hasn't helped you to realize that yet, then you have a LOT to learn. To be perfectly candid here, based on what you've said I don't think you're as smart as you -- and your parents -- think you are. Which is not to say that you can't get a lot smarter. You should challenge yourself in school more, because whatever you do, you'll need a better education than you're getting now. Ask your guidance counselor how you can improve your critical thinking skills. In any case, pretty don't last; brains do. Work the brain.
  • You can have a talk with them, because an intellectual is well rounded, and knows more than just what is in a textbook. also, when you are in college, modeling can make you some money to pay for books, food, etc. or you could just wait until you are 18, and their opinion won't be a problem anymore.
  • 1st - it is hard to get into modeling and have a great career. study get a degree and model part-time! I had to check your profile: you keep saying you are 12 yrs old...listen to your parents
