Help answer this question below.
When you work for Carnival, you sign a 9 month contract and kiss home goodbye. You are on the ship 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Even when the boat returns to port, you have to get ready for the next group of people. So having an apartment is just wasting money!
The staff on Carnival never work the same runs for the 9 month either. They might do the eastern carribean for a few months, then travel to Canada, then maybe the western Carribean.
If you work on a cruise ship, you're generally working back to back cruises and live on the ship.
not financially viable i wouldnt think

I have never been on a cruise before, and I was wondering what I should check out? Looking for east coast USA stuff. Leaving from Florida......Where can I find good prices and what to look for. And what to avoid.

Would you rather go on a 7 day cruise with 5 ports or a 10 day cruise with 2 ports assuming the cost was the same.
