there is eithe a short in the wire or more likely you have the right one hooked up wrong. the reason the amp shuts off is to protect it from blowing when its drawing too much power

You're reading I have 2 12" rockford fosgate punchs and an 1800 watt amp. if i have both speakers hooked up either the amp shuts off or only the left one works. if i unhook the right speaker its fine.
