Is a us cellular phone compatible with at&t? Also can you convert 1 phone from another to a different carrier?

I don't know. It is probably possible but I doubt it is economically practical. Why not go to a pawn shop and see if they will swap that phone for one that is compatible.

No. AT&T uses a technology called GSM for its cellular service while US Cellular uses a technology called CDMA. The two technologies are incompatible. It is possible to convert a phone from one carrier to another only when they both use the same technology for their services. In the US there is only the two tech types, GSM and CDMA. In the rest of the world you will find mostly GSM technology used. Hope this helps.
