  • If you think he is just pooing outside the box, you are SO wrong. Cat piss is the worst smell in the world and never goes away. Once a cat starts going outside the box, I put them down. There is no fixing him.
  • How old is the cat? Alot of cats do this if they have a health problem or are getting old. make sure you really scrub where the cat has pooped or pee'd hes likely to be returning there because he can smell his scent
  • You should take him to the vet. Seriously. A sudden change in behavior like this often means a cat is sick. He could have a condition that causes him pain when he's defecating. . You'll want to find that out quickly because he will eventually associate the litter box with pain. . I've had this happen to a couple of cats over the years, and in both cases they went right back to using the litter box. . When you clean the spot where he's been going, use a cleaner designed to neutralize pet odors. Even when it smells clean to you, he can still smell it. I've used a spray produce called PetZyme that always done the trick. . And, wow, did this question attract some pretty mean answers, or what?
