Electronics gurus - I played a homemade DVD last night and it worked great. This morning, the DVD player is totally dead (yes, it's hooked up and plugged in). Did it just die or is this a problem I can fix?

I had a problem like this, I bought a new DVD and my player died but I found out that it was because there was too much heat on top of my DVD player. So if you got a VCR or DVR on top of your DVD player that might of caused it to die or maybe it just died of old age but I don't think a home made DVD would cause a DVD player to die.

You also could have had a power surge that fried it.
