How do I make it so visitors to my website must sign up for my newsletter before viewing specific content?

• I would prefer to keep it open for everyone 24/7 to view the content and let access be gained by giving me there mail address so I could send out newsletter to interested people who want to view such content. If they already signed up then I would like the script to detect that and let them gain access.

• Those sounds good, that way I could add the email addresses to the mailing list after the fact and still have my content secured. Do you know of any helpful sites where I could locate a script that would be of some assistance?

• You can still do it via a form page and that's what I'm getting at in my answer. The content IS hidden until they have filled out everything that may be required, including accepting a newsletter. The submit becomes active when the fields are completed. Your content is listed under whatever file name you choose and is not listed under your site map. It's really not difficult, especially when using a generic template in a program such as Dream weaver or Web Easy.

• So if I understand correctly once all fields are filled submit becomes active and once submitted... you re redirected to the page you wanted to see? If that s correct then how do I make it so someone doesn t have to sign up every time they want to see that page once they have initially signed up?

• The best way is to add username and password to the fields. If you're setting this up as a mailer, you already have or will need to have a database to store the info. You could go the lazy route and just rely on cookies, but some folk either don't have them enabled or have their PC's set to wipe them at the end of session.
