    red hippos are awesome, red hippos are fun
    but red hippos can't dance, it just can't be done!
    red hippos can sing and read and play
    but red hippos can't dance for you today
    nor tomorrow, nor the day after
    red hippos will try, then they'll fall from their own laughter

    look at the lot of us
    the red hippopotamus
    we don't stand a chance
    at learning to dance
    no graceful ballerina toes
    and everyone knows
    it's not our fault
    we can't salsa or waltz
    with bodies like this
    we can't shuffle or twist
    and if we breakdance
    you better have insurance
    it's an embarrassing sight
    trying to do the electric slide
    why else would we be red?
