I'm just new on here. Hope your dog is ok. I don't have an answer to your question but I have a large breed malamute as well. 200 pounds.I was wondering if you know anything about skin irritations on their paws. I know I will have to take him to the vet but just thought I'd ask. He licks the top of his paws until they are raw. Any ideas?

take him to a vet, maybe it's just a virus or something. If you already did, check his poop, are there any worms or blood in it? worms are treatable, blood may be as well. He might just be scared because you are and he knows how you feel, seriously, dogs sense these things. He may feel selfconscious about his pooping problem too, and is embarressed, they know these things too. Having diareah(sp) can be very exhausting, and can make him weak, hence the shaking. Ever had the flu?
