    Christ means Messiah.

Yeshua Ben Yoseph is considdered to be the Jewish Messiah by "Christians".

Jewish people reject the notion that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah because he failed to live up to Biblical prophecy:

Christians are not Jewish, nor do they follow Jewish law.

    Best wishes.

Jesus was a Jew, yes, but the Jewish people decided not to recognise him as the Messiah. The people who rejected the Jewish belief became Christians, and spread their teachings like mustard over bread. Christians shouldn't be Jews, because they see Jesus as the 'Son' (as if an incorporeal spirit should wish to have a son), whereas Jews don't. Also, 'everyone' isn't either Jewish or Christian - there are Muslims, Hindus, followers of the Ancient Chinese Beliefs, Buddhists, Baha'is, Zoroastrians, Scientologists, Jedi, Athiests and Agnostics, and many more.

I believe God looks out for each and everyone of us ... no matter what faith we choose to guide us ...

I really think choosing a religion is like being a member of a different club ... one of many created by men not God ...

If you dont belong to the Hells Angels motorcycle club ... it doesn't mean you can't ride a motorcycle ...

As is with religion ... if I am not Jewish or Catholic it doesn't mean I don't believe or that I am not one of his children ...

    I believe in God

and I respect the choices of 'ALL' others

but for myself I don't choose any particular religion ... and I don't believe he will watch out for me any less ...

    I am Gods religion ... 'Belief' ... It's all I need

(Please do not be offended, my opinion only)

    If it wasn't for Jesus
    We'd have to be Jewish.

You'll get long answers from both sides on this. The short one you want is that Jesus was Jewish but the entire purpose of the Jewish religion was to keep God's people together until the Messiah came. Until he came, we didn't know what his name would be. It could have been Harold or Robert or Ivan, but it happened to be Jesus.

Once Jesus showed up, the racial and ceremonial components of Judaism were no longer important, and the way to a relationship with God was opened to all people. Almost all the first Christians were Jewish, but it was never intended to remain that way. The Apostles James, Peter and Paul (Acts 15 and Galatians 1) taught that only the moral laws of God now applied to God's people. Circumcision, for example, now became something we do for hygienic rather than religious reasons (it cuts the transmissibility of AIDS by about a third).

Today you are Jewish because you are born Jewish, or you can be converted into it. You don't have to practice any specifically Jewish laws unless you want to.

It is the belief in Jesus as the son of God that makes us Christian not Jewish.

Before Jesus there was no Christianity, Jesus Christ Hence Christians

Why would you want to be Jewish? Why would you join an exclusive sect if you are not born into it. Surely doesn't it diminsh us in some way?
