My ex and i share joint custody and placement of our kids he recently told me that i can not see or talk to our kids until we go back to court this is violating a court order in ny state what can happen and can it help me when i go for full custody?

    it has been awhile since you asked this ? so you may have gotten help already. But if not it is a violation and he can not do that. I live in PA me and my husband had this problem with his daughter's mother doing the same thing. we had to hire a lawyer and press contempt charges basically this is how works first time the judge just gives a slap on the wrist and may order him to pay a portion of the legal fees you had to pay. The second time he would pay a fine and maybe get put on probation, third time jail time and fourth time the judge would most likey terminate his custody rights
