  • Probably not as I didn't even know who Robbie Burns was until I just looked it up: Robert Burns (January 25, 1759 – July 21, 1796) was a poet and a lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland, and is the best-known of the poets who have written in the Scots language, although much of his writing is also in English and a 'light' Scots dialect which would have been accessible to a wider audience than simply Scottish people. At various times in his career, he wrote in English, and in these pieces, his political or civil commentary is often at its most blunt. - Wiki
  • Well, if I was back in my hometown of Dunedin NZ, I'd go and decorate the statue of Robbie Burns in the center of our city, and then go down to the "Robbie" for a few beers! Robbie Burns is a big feature of our town. LOL
  • Drink whisky, eat (vegetarian) haggis and read a poem or two. It's "Burns Night", not "Robbie Burns Day" by the way.
  • I honestly cannot say i have ever celebrated Robert Burns Day.I certainly will not be eating haggis. No I do not celebrate it maybe if i was in Scotland All the years iIhave been in England I have never visited Scotland, but hope to change that this year I bought a small cottage in the Lakes a couple of years ago but have not been there since . I hope to visit Scotland because i am told Edinburgh is only an hour away
  • Now that you mention it, I will probably pull a book of his poems off my shelf and read a couple of them.
  • Nah, of course not. I was just being pedantic. Celebrate when you like, how you like. (Oops I typed that in the wrong place, sorry!)
  • Ah, Burns Night! A year doesn't dawn without Robbie Burns. I consider him an auld acquaintance not forgotten, and often brought to mind. Cheers, Robbie Burns, and a red, red rose. And thank you. And thanks to you, yohoho, for reminding me. I'll re-read some poems today and smile a lot.
  • I'll pick up a book of his poems that a friend gave me and have a leaf through some old faves. I might have a wee dram too. Good old Rabbie.
  • By watching, "So I Married an Axe Murderer" (replete with 20th century Robbie Burns references)
  • I will do the Highland Fling whilst eating Haggis and wearing a sporran.
