  • Sorry I don't have a numeric answer for you. But juvenile cancers are quite rare. The rate in the US is about 155/million/year for children between 1 and 18. The rate for the first year is higher, about 230/million/year. Both these numbers are falling.
  • About 7 children die each day in the US from cancer. It is the #1 cause of death from disease in kids. One third of the children who are diagnosed with cancer will die. Sixty percent of those who survive will suffer long term side effects (brain damage, secondary cancers, infertility) as a result of their cancer treatment. The average age of a child diagnosed with cancer is 6 years old. September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month.
