Oh, I don't know about that! Sounds extreme. Smoking is still legal, you know? Anyways, both of my parents smoked while I was growing up. In fact, my mother even smoked while she was pregnant with me. I never ever had an ear infection and I don't have asthma. Possible cancer? Who isn't subject to possible cancer?

Change those etcs to blah, blah, blah. There is no valid basis for taking children away from their parents in such situations.

The shouldn't have their kids taken away the first time - fined, perhaps.

If the kids are already have an illness that is affected by cigarette smoke, and the parents keep smoking around the children, then yes, their children should live in a healthier environment.

A smoke-filled environment has a negative impact on everyone's quality of life, and I think that in this day and age, when everyone knows how bad smoke is, it's highly irresponsible for parents to keep smoking indoors and in cars. Makes me pretty angry.

When Cigarette smoking is outlawed, then I will support the actions until then These type laws in my opinion are HITLER style and are clearly in direct violation of the constitution of the united states of America. Cigarette smoking will never be outlawed so it's a bunch of BS.

my 9 mo old granddaughter came to visit (from CA to NC)& had had a really bad cold for about a month. My daughter said the DRs told her it was because of the smoke on her dad's clothes. He doesn't smoke, but works w/poeple that do. I do smoke, although not in the same room as my daughter/granddaughter. Guess what, she got better in less than 3 days & my daughter said she hadn't been that well in months. So, DUH, do you think maybe it could be from going to childcare? Kids get other kids sick. Simple. But so easy to blame it on 2nd , or 3rd hand smoke. So, excuse me if I say BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...
I do know cigarettes & 2nd hand smoke are not good for anyone. I'm not stupid. But taking kids away??

No, I can see far more worse things that a parent can do, and that is extreme. I think it is a matter of being respectful, I smoke, but when my child is in the house, or car, I do not, but other than that, I pay for the rent, so I feel entitiled to be able to do so (without subjecting my kids to second hand smoke).

I don't think there kid should be taken away, but maybe they should be fined! Its unhealthy for the children, and they don't have a choice to breath it in or not, so they should make smoking around children illegal!
