You're reading Flying with a six year old and need to take a booster seat for car at destination. Do the airlines allow the booster seat in the seat ( or stored under it) or will it have to be checked? hoping not to have to check any bags.

grrr...not the answer I wanted as I do not want to wait on baggage claim, but thank you for the response

I realized I should have told you more. Call the airline ahead of time and ask them. Every airline is different but out of the 6 that I've flown on with my child, it was a definite NO.
There are options:
1. You can ask if the seat can be carried on and stored in overhead compartment.
2. You can rent a booster seat from the car rental which can be expensive.
3. If you think there is a store nearby the airport, you can stop and buy a booster.
4. Ask the airline if there is a brand of seat they accept....I heard a rumour that there is one out there but the price is probably nuts!
Have fun :)
