Help answer this question below.

Two identical tubs of cold water are placed into two cars - one black, one white (both exposed to the hot sun). Which tub of water will heat up first?

    I would have thought the black car's water.
    As the black exterior would absorb more heat than the white car (which would reflect a proportion of the heat).
    I think the difference would be not statistically significant if you actually did the experiment though :)

    Black it seems to attract more sunlight thus making it hotter inside the car.

    I think black. Black absorbs the heat while the white car reflects heat.

    The one in the white car ACTUALLY I THINK THE ONE IN THE BLACK CAR would probably be correct Sorry I cannot think straight

    Black absorbs and radiates heat. White reflects it.
    During the day the black car would absorb more heat from the light. The white car would reflect the light.
    At night, though, the white car would stay warmer longer since it would relect the heat in the car. The black car would radiate the heat.

    White. I've heard of this experiment being done I think it was on Mythbusters, but I don't remember the reasoning behind it?

    Both will heat up at the same time. AS for which one heats FASTER, that is a separate question ;)

    I think the show "Mythbusters" just did something on this - the black car heats up faster and retains heat longer than a white car. Might want to check their website:
