I have an older model JVC VHS machine. When trying to record a program the only channel options I have are 3 and F-1. How can I get it back to choose all/any channel I want to record?

The autoprogram channel feature must have been run while it was connected to a digital receiver of some sort. In other words, only 3 was available at the time. You may need a remote to do this, but if you hit MENU and run Auto Program channels again, making sure your cable is connected directly to the VCR so that it can see all channels, it will program every channel it can pick up. Alternatively, using a remote, you should be able to punch in the number of the channel to make it go to that channel. good luck.
