You're reading If God knows & loves all & can control all, why would God get angry and/or hate as some believe God is reported to in the Bible, Quran & some other faith's scriptures? These are usually defensive emotions, brought into play when things get out of control

Perhaps the "ifs" were included for a reason. Certainty the elements belief are seldom something that can be confirmed between two, let alone all, as it is seldom all about intellect or thought. "If" we were created in God's image to the degree you state has been impressd upon us by religions, then perhaps we would see God on the street.... some beliefs suggest this is a reason for being nice to each other. I think we waste much time trying to put God into neat little pockets which we can identify as being like us. I believe the "image" of God manifest in our being is spiritual, certainly not all of what is called "God", but an aspect of this. People hear what they choose of God. Listening is not a requirement for being human. Sometimes I wish it were, but then if it was, I'd be a beanstock or moutain or something.

I do agree that our image of God was passed on to us by religion, not relationship. We have no idea who God is or of what He may be capable. I've long struggled with the concept, but my own personal experiences, which most certainly are not sufficient to enlighten anyone beside myself, have led me to conclude that there is a God, but that I am too simple to comprehend His complexities and am simultaneously analyzing Him far too intensely to fathom His simplicity.

Perhaps It is what is reflected in our higher views of self. It sometimes seems much easier to ignore our inner "simplicity", which may be Godly, and instead to focus on the the seemingly complex world around us. Not all is what it appears, nor is the Word always what is read in the words of scripture.
