  • I wear a hoodie, a coat that comes down to my knees, a scarf, gloves, and a wool cap. Most of the time I stay very warm with all this on. It's even more effective if I layer my regular clothes.
  • If I really want to keep myself warm here is what I wear. Two pairs of socks under my shoes of course (boots if your going through lots of snow) A pair of sweatpants under a pair of regular pants on your legs On your torso, A t-shirt, a sweater, a warm-up jacket, a hooded sweatshirt and if you need it (You probably won't) a winter coat. Lets put it this way I can walk through 20 degree weather without the winter coat and still feel very warm. Its all in layering.
  • Usually I'll wear three/four shirts, a sweatshirt, a pair of pants, a pair of socks, and shoes. It's pretty effective. I'm still a bit cold if it's windy though.
  • learned this trick when i was living in utah and even though they wouldn't admit it a lot of the guys would under their your long johns but in most cases you can were them under your pants instead of long johns just a simple pair of nylon panty hose yes panty hose so before you or anyone else think i'm off my rocker and rate this nonsense and this goes to you guys too if its snowing or just freaking cold tomorrow morning when you get up put on a pair and dress as you normally would with all those layers of clothes and socks with in a week see how many of those under layers are no longer needed if you want to compare take an old pair and cut one of the legs off then put the panty hose on and dress as you would normally and go about you day and see if you don't notice the differnce by the end of the day i bet you'll of wished you had worn the whole pair
  • I wear Long Johns (thermal underwear), pants, thick socks, t-shirt and a long sleeve shirt. I then put on a scarf, my warm coat (thermal, yet lightweight), my gloves, and my work boots, and most importantly my hat. Keeping your head covered keeps your feet warm.
  • I just wear long sleeves, jeans, shoes (of course) and a jacket. It doesnt get that cold here.
  • Lots of good answers here, I just wanted to add that snow fleece is one of my favorite materials for keeping warm here in Canada. I buy my son and husband snow fleece everything.
  • Keep it simple! First, skip the long johns! Wool Socks, 800 gram thinsulate rubber boots, jeans, 2 sets of cotton (yes cotton) shirts, a sweatshirt, and a carhart coveralls (not overalls). Add a hat and gloves and you will be toasty to 20 below (and in wind!)!
  • Two pairs of trousers/jeans, and a black wooly jumper.
  • Leggings or long johns underneath a pair of jeans and if it is especially chilly (which it is up here almost -40C most days) then a pair of sweatpants over my jeans as well. Two pairs of socks always. Either a long sleeve shirt, T or both. A big sweater and my winter jacket. Then of course the toque goes on and the gloves stay off....unless they're the good hobo gloves. Days when I wear everything I'm warm but other days when I skip out on the leggings or extra shirt I feel the cold.
  • Thermals or sweatshirts..lined coat, hat, scarf, and gloves are a must! I HATE when my hands are cold.
  • 55 armor of denim, + 5 against elemental with the thermal underwear upgrade.
  • I get those little "hand warmers" from the gas station and wear boots that are about a size too big and put them inside.... next I use harndwarmers in my mittens and finally .. a parka... its too COOOOOOOOLD for me right now!
