If your friend continually tells you they're bored (like every day) and you don't entertain them because you're out of ideas, are you considered a bad friend? could they hold that against you?

They can hold it against you but they would be in the wrong. It is not your job as a friend to entertain them. It makes them a bad friend to suggest that you should. The bad thing about friendship is that no two people place their friendship at the same level. We all have our idea of what a friend should be and we expect certain things. There is nothing wrong with that because it is just how it is. But after a while that friendship (if worthy) will blend into a equal partnership.

They should not hold that against you. Life is what you make it, we are all individual people that came in to the world by ourselves. Its not a bad idea to have a suggestion or two every now and then but its not your duty to make sure that they entertained throughout their life on a consistent basis, you have your own boredom to cure sometimes. They need to get a life or some extra curricular activities if they feel that you have anything to do with their boredom. I can tell you are a good friend just by your concern but don't make their problem yours!!

You're their friend, not their entertainment director. If they hold that against you, they're really no friend at all. I also find that people who are bored are usually boring and need to look within themselves to change that. Another person cannot do it for them.

No. Unless they're a child, it's not your responsibility to keep them entertained. They can use their own imagination to come up with something.
