I have begun looking for work. I have been told eating poppy seeds can cause a false positive drug test. Does anyone know how long they stay in your system?

Poppy seeds don't show up positive - they only enhance what is already in your system. So if there is no drugs in your system to start with you do not have to worry about it. That is according to our TN state licensed drug testing center as he explained it to us when my company started the TN drugfree workforce program.

The measure the quantity of drugs in your system. So the level of opioid that shows up will correspond with a poppy seed muffin. They will know that you do not shot heroin. Just like they would know if you were around people smoking weed or smoking it yourself by the amount found in your body.

- Yoor welcome. You might also tell the tech. doing the test that you ate a poppy seed muffin. They might laught at you, but you'll have your butt covered.
