Help answer this question below.
Which God? I'm afraid you haven't specified, and this isn't in a category that indicates which God. Could you be more specific?
Assuming we're talking about the Christian God here, and also assuming that this deity exists, what on earth could make anyone think God gives a damn about what people do with their reproductive organs?
If God did think this mattered, I'd say God was a tad obsessive.
Assuming the existence of God is valid (not meaning to offend you) he made us the way we are for a reason. We are all his creations, therefore he loves us for who we are.
Yes. God made gay people gay just as he made straight people straight... and, I doubt any righteous god would condemn you for something he made you be.
Yes. Weither there are Gods and Godesses or a God or Godess; one's spirit matters more than sexual orentation. In other words, from a Christain perspective, if Heaven is real, and you are truely saved than it don't matter if you'r gay, bie, lesbian or undecided; you will be excepted, by Christ, into his home. Only Bible-thumpers and Satan say differently.
Why give us free will if he's going to hate us for the choices we make?
Yes, I believe that the God I worship cares for the soul more. But like AntigoneRising stated you would have to be more specific with wich "god" you are refering to before we could properly answer your question.
I don't know.. I'm not God.

LOL...wow, somethings haven't changed!
Its been so long since I've been on here, but your still the same and I'm glad to see that!
You may not remember me, and thats ok, I'm not offended.
We've argued and agreed in the past, and such goes the life of a true answer-bagger!

In the above question he if refering to the Christain God.
by Werewolf87 on January 26th, 2009
I remember you. :) How have you been? I hadn't seen you in a while, and thought that you'd long left AB.
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
Werewolf, seeing as how no one has shown any evidence (let alone proof) that any deity exists, I find your entire commentary suspect. God is a title, not a name.
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
I'm good, and I had left....Some people on here were making me want to shoot penguines with potato guns!!!...you get the point. But I thought I shouldn't let the trolls chase me away! How have you been!?
by Miyaku on January 26th, 2009
yes I am referring to the Christian God and what the Bible says about homosexuality...
by Forsaken on January 26th, 2009
I've been doing ok. I'm back in the US, and was away from AB for several months myself. My partner and I recently got engaged, and I decided to post it out here. I've been off and on since. I don't pay much attention to who does or doesn't want me here or whatever, but I never have. Life is easier that way. :)

Forsaken, Yahweh doesn't exist, but the Bible does indicate that if a man has sex with a man, you are to put both of them to death. Apparently, Yahweh (like most men) likes lesbians.
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
I'm not discriminating you or your beliefs so i would appreciate a little more respect for mine. I am unsure of how to feel regarding homosexuality and just want to get some opinions. And that makes no sense God cleary states He made woman for man and not man for man or woman for woman.
by Forsaken on January 26th, 2009
The Bible says that. There is no evidence whatsoever that it is the literal word of any deity. I haven't shown you any disrespect, just disagreement. It is hardly my fault that you didn't specify to which deity you were referring, or put it in a particular category. Perhaps you shouldn't assume that everyone has the same beliefs about God that you do. The Bible doesn't say anything about lesbians, so He must like them. It mentions only men lying with men. Of course, that is the same place it mentions that people who eat shellfish should be put to death, so you should probably take the verse with all the same seriousness you show the one about shellfish. The other point of interest here is that homosexuality exists in many species (over 400 and rising are documented), so it cannot be said to be "unnatural", as it occurs in nature. There is significant evidence that there are genetic components, and that sexual orientation cannot be changed. So you might want to also ponder why Yahweh would create people homosexual and subsequently condemn them for it.
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
Don't think for a second I don't know what the Bible states thank-you very much. I just asked a question concerning that and that is what makes me unsure on this topic. I am not saying homosexuality is right or wrong but thanks for assuming I think it's wrong just because I'm a Christian. I know the bible says any adulterer or child that disobeys should be put to death as well as homosexuals. Obviously times have changed since then. I don't think your facts are correct about other species sexuality, but I will research that for myself :) And when the g in God is capitalized, any educated person would know someone is referring to God in the Christian belief.
by Forsaken on January 26th, 2009
Oh where to begin? I never assumed what you believe, only suggested things to consider. I have Christian homosexual friends, so I don't assume that all Christians have a problem with it. You seem to be the one with some preconcieved notions. I think you should research EVERYTHING for yourself. I say so on my profile page. This I am quite comfortable with, as we covered it in detail in collegiate Biology. No, in fact, when the G is capitalized it does not mean Yahweh.(Wiccans, such as myself, refer to the God, but we do not mean Yahweh, and Hindus use God, but they certainly don't either, just as some examples.) If you think it does, it is indicative of your myopic paradigm, not the definition of the word. It is capitalized when referring to a specific deity in the same way President is capitalized when referring to a specific one. It becomes a proper noun. It is a title, not a name. I'm quite educated on the subject, having studied religions and comparative religions to the 400 (senior collegiate) level. It is quite apparent, by contrast, that you are not.
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
I'll even quite happily assist your research. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/07/0722_040722_gayanimal.html
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
LMAO!!!!
I can settle this....Forsaken, to paraphrase what the Bible says, God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve! But if you read on(don't know the specific verses) he says that he loves us all equally. Yes I believe that that even means the homosexuals. While this is not the way he originally intended it to be, he still loves us all and WANTS THE BEST FOR US!!!*smile* I am a christian, used to be satanist. But just because I was once against what God wanted me to be doesnt mean he loved me any less. In short, yes. To the christian God, the soul matters more than their orientation... At least thats the way I see it.
by Miyaku on January 26th, 2009
I would also like to state for the record that I do not discriminate against the homosexual population in anyway! While its not the life I would choose for myself, I see no reason to give those who have chosen the path hell for their belifes! *smiles to all!*
by Miyaku on January 26th, 2009
lol Atigone whatever religion uses capitol G in God is referring to the same God that relates to the Bible/Koran ect. I'm assuming you don't actually believe every religion worships a different god? Of course I have pre-conceived notions about homosexuality and every right to. I don't discriminate against anyone. I know that I am no better than anyone, we are all sinners. Miyaku you say you don't discriminate but yor very first sentence is quite contradictory. God does love us all but that doesn't mean we are all just fine and dandy and have nothing to worry about. I can assure you my friend there will be 100x more people going to hell than to Heaven.
by Forsaken on January 26th, 2009
"G in God is referring to the same God that relates to the Bible/Koran" Uh, no. I'm pretty clear on this one. I don't worship Yahweh, nor do I believe He exists. Even if He did, I find the description of Him in the Bible to be quite evil and unworthy of worship. So, no, I worship God, but I do not worship Yahweh. Your statement makes no more sense than me telling you, "Whatever religion uses capital G in God is referring to Vishnu who relates to the Vedas. I'm assuming you don't actually believe that every religion worships a different god?" I worship Osiris, and I certainly do not assume that you do. My fiance is Hindu, and his entire family have worshiped Durga (a Goddess, btw, who they see as the Supreme Deity) for several hundred years (and probably longer). There is no concept of Hell, only reincarnation to continue to refine the soul. The main principles are kharma and dharma. "I can assure you my friend there will be 100x more people going to hell than to Heaven." Yup, because He loves everyone so much. That's the definition of love, you know, sending 100x more people to suffer eternal torture in Hell.
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
No, it is simply my opinion. I wouldnt choose the life nor do I believe that that is how God intended for us to live it...But who am I to judge? As you yourself said we are human and no one is better than anyone else on this earth. I haven't contradicted myself, I believe that you have simply misunderstood my meaning. And I also agree that more will go to heaven than to hell. Its sad...but I do believe it is true.
by Miyaku on January 26th, 2009
I must have the weirdest belief system in the world!...I see all the points you both have made, and can agree with alot of them...
by Miyaku on January 26th, 2009
you mean more will go to hell(i think). Well the whole Adam and Steve comment wasn't apropriate. Anti God loves us but there are so many people who are unwilling to accept it. Muslims,Jews,Christians, all worship the same God in a different way, is what I am referring to. I'm not gonna debate religion with you anti for I know it will get us nowhere. All I hope is that you can be a little more open to others next time
by Forsaken on January 26th, 2009
In that case sorry if I offended you...(truth being I heard that from a preacher)...Yeah, thats what I meant. typo on me! Sorry!
by Miyaku on January 26th, 2009
no worries mate, you didn't offend me, but I was just saying I know it would be seen offensive to others.
by Forsaken on January 26th, 2009
are you austrailian!?!?! or just like using that phrase?!?
by Miyaku on January 26th, 2009
"Anti God loves us but there are so many people who are unwilling to accept it." I agree that God loves us. I just disagree that Yahweh does, because He doesn't exist. I also disagree that the Bible describes a loving deity. "Muslims,Jews,Christians, all worship the same God in a different way, is what I am referring to." Yes, and that is just under 2/3 of the world's population, leaving over 2 billion that use the term God and do not mean Yahweh. "I'm not gonna debate religion with you anti for I know it will get us nowhere." You are quite right. Debate is reasoned, supported argument. You would need to find something out about religions other than your own in order to engage in it.
by AntigoneRising on January 26th, 2009
I'm sorry I don't know anything about the most obscure god/godesses out there lol
by Forsaken on January 26th, 2009
Obscure? That pretty much shows your level of knowledge on comparative religions. Education isn't such a bad thing, you know. You can study and understand what other people believe without believing it yourself.
by AntigoneRising on January 27th, 2009
I may have missed this before and that isn't a suprise at all but what religions are you anti? Or would you not clasify yourself as any one religion? (simple curiosity)
by Miyaku on January 27th, 2009
I'm a very Atheistic leaning Wiccan. I believe in Deity, but that Deity is All (Everything). My views of divinity coincide with most Buddhist and Hindu beliefs, and is roughly categorized as Pantheism. As you might remember, my fiance is Hindu, and I lived for an extended time in India.
by AntigoneRising on January 27th, 2009
wow, how many medications are you on?
by Forsaken on January 27th, 2009
I think the word you are searching for is "education". I'm on a lot of education. You might wish to try it. It is a fairly effective cure for solipsism of your type, where you take your personal experiences and extrapolate them to the world at large as if it still applies. It also helps cure a tendency towards argumentum ad personam, from which you also appear to suffer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem#Ad_hominem_abusive
by AntigoneRising on January 27th, 2009
Alright Forsaken, NOW I HAVE to say something...As much as we may have similar views on christianity theres no sense in throwing insults. Even if you dont believe in the same ethings as Anti, you should at least be able to respect her beliefs! I go through this day in and day out with me adoptive family, I was born to wiccans, and raised by devout catholics. I dont agree with all that they do but I respect them. And not to mention her knowledge! It's mind blowing to me that she knows so much about all these different belief systems, and that she can find harmony and ballance in her life while incorperating them. I think she's pretty extrodinary... and truthfully...I wish I was a little more like her...
by Miyaku on January 27th, 2009
Wow. Now I'm blushing (and that rarely happens). Thank you, Miyaku.
by AntigoneRising on January 28th, 2009
Who said I was insulting maybe it was a compliment? I don't throw insults unless they are worthy of being thrown...She insulted me first waaaaaa! Anyway hey if it makes you happy whatever, just don't say I didn't try and help.
by Forsaken on January 28th, 2009
Ok maybe it was a lil insultive, I humbly apologize anti. +3
by Forsaken on January 28th, 2009
AntigoneRising; you are right God is a title. He, or she,has no name. The proof of his,or her, existance can be seen everywhere, even on the news when somebody survives an accident that could've killed that person.
Lets say you get hit by a big rig going 10mph over the speed limit while crossing a road. If it's NOT your time to go; than God WON'T let it kill you. You will survive and make the news.
by Werewolf87 on March 2nd, 2009
Werewolf87, Interesting. I've run into the argument by incomplete destruction before. I fail to see how the fact that some people die and some do not proves (or disproves) the existence of any deity. "If it's NOT your time to go; than God WON'T let it kill you. You will survive and make the news." Yeah, I'll just survive maimed and probably paralyzed or vegetative for years and years. That's better. Sure.
by AntigoneRising on March 3rd, 2009
Being maimed and paralyzed or a vegetable is better than dying and going to hell, weather it exists or not.
