How does a temperature difference of 1 degree multiplies to 12 degree in Arctic.

    Global warming is estimated by a standard temperature worldwide at an average of 1 to 2 degrees.I colder climates,heading towards the poles the temperature changes are much greater,hence the 12 degree plus temperature.
