Printed.. for the smell if nothing else. Such a strong sense memory of the smell books and how enjoyable it is to curl up with that smell and lose yourself in a good novel for a few hours.

I work at a borders book store and I am not that impressed with the e-books.
So I say printed one ,plus I would rather borrow a freind a book that cost a few dollors then one that cost a whole lot more.

Definitely a printed one. I am on the computer all day at work, so I think it's nice to curl up on the couch and read a book when the day is done.

I still enjoy reading a actual physical book in my hands as opposed to a e-book and I always will.

As a bibliophile, I definitely have to go with printed! I love filling my shelves with them. They are my pretties.

I like printed ones... I like to turn the pages, and to feel something solid in my hands while I read...
Plus, I love the smell of books... New ones and old ones... =)
And, of course, I collect them, so.......

I have to agree with the smell of printed ones; love it.

I dunno if anyone has tried to read in bed holding a laptop, but it gets heavy after a while :)
    Printed books are best!

A point for everyone from me coz we are all book lovers.

Printed ones, definitely. It's easier to mark your place and to read in general. Plus, it's easier to carry it a book around then a computer.

It will always be the printed version. There is something tangible about the printed word which simply doesn't come across on a screen.

And previous answers have it right - for those who love books and reading there is a welcome which opens the door to all sorts of possibilities when you open a book. In a previous life I owned and ran a small bookshop, and am still carried back (cough!) years whenever I enter a library or bookshop (especially a 2nd hand one).

There's something personal and immediate about an actual book which a screen simply does not convey. Plus, in a shop you can let your eye wander the shelves and may just come across something you had no idea you wanted or were interested in, and leave with a treasure that will last for years. Books don't crash or have power cuts and you don't have to log on to them, just pick them up and begin again where you left off.

Printed. There is some kind of psychological bond between the reader, his hands and the book. It is hard to explain, but it is like the book has something to tell you, like a wise man waiting for you to discover. The e-book doesn't feel like that, doesn't have that kind of feeling.

Give me a real book made from paper and cardboard. Something I can hold in my hands, and turn those pages. Someplace to put my bookmark and come back to later, maybe just for a few minutes without having to turn anything on.

Print, touching pages has a certain quality you can't find on E books.

    I'd read printed ones.
First off, they don't make your eyes as bad as e-books do. Well, e-books won't necessarily make your eyes bad, but if you stare at one too much, they might.
Second, printed books are just the "old-style." They remind us of when we were children. Or when we could just grab a book from a shelf, and curl up in a blanket, drink hot cocoa, and read. It was happy. =)
Third, I agree with everybody else about the smell. It has a certain feeling to it.
Fourth, I like the feeling of turning a page and getting to read the words on the next one. And there are so many more printed books than e-books, aren't there? It's cheaper...???
Fifth, well, this has been a pretty long opinion, but I think it was worthwile typing. I think that I should quit on the computer and start reading from a printed book!
And it's just something about printed books that brings me into them. Memories.
