How do I change the fuel pump in a 2000 Ford Contour?

    there is an access pannel under rear seat, remove bottom cushion of rear seat (just pull up hard) there will be largwe rubber grommet, pop it out and you will see the fuel pump lock ring, tap it counter clockwise to release lock and extract the fuel pump....no need to drop tank.

    the fuel pump is inside the gas tanl. tank has to be taken out to remove and replace fuel pump.
